St.Joseph and St Stephen parish is working with Catholic Charities this Advent season. You are invited to signup for our Giving Tree programs as our family of faith during this season of charity, hope and joy as we provide Christmas gifts for children and young people in our area who are in need. Please bring your unwrapped gifts with the Giving Tree information securely attached to the gifts. The gifts should be placed by the tree in the Church by December 10th at 12:00pm.
Thank you so much for your support.
Each year, in coordination with the children in our Religious Education Program, our parishioners are invited to share thier blessings with those in our community who are in need for Thanksgiving. We collect food items starting at the end of October and ending two Sundays before Thanksgiving. There will be a collection box in each church building during this time. Thanksgiving food donations can include: $25 grocery gift cards, 5lb bags of potatoes, butternut squash, bags of onions, boxes and/or bags of stuffing, cans cranbery sauce, cans or jars of turkey gravy, cans or boxes of broth, cornbread mixes, prepared pie fillings, pie crust mixes, cans of grean beans, corn, or sweet potatoes.
... whatsoever you do for the least of my people, that you do for me.
- Matthew 25:40
Neighbor Helping Neighbor is an organization which assists those in need in our local community. This group offer assistance to individuals and families on a person to person basis; and carries out its ministry by providing as much direct emergency assistance to those referred as resources allow. This takes the form of food, clothing, and household items. When longer-term assistance is necessary, referrals are made to appropriate public or private agencies. Neighbor Helping Neighbor Outreach has only one eligibility requirement - that the people seeking assistance are in need of such help. People’s needs are met regardless of age, sex, race, creed, or ethnic background. All referrals made to Neighbor Helping Neighbor should be made through the Saint Joseph and St Stephen's Office. Requests can also be made by placing a written request in a Neighbor helping Neighbor boxes at the entrances of the church.
Contact the parish office at 508-755-3165 or 508-754-6722, if you would like to help in these important ministries.
